A unique treasure on Florida’s Palm Coast
By Steven Skelley & Thomas Routzong
Located on the beautifully unspoiled beaches of Florida’s Palm Coast, Hammock Beach Resort is a unique treasure – a luxury resort that offers fine dining, an ocean-inspired spa, multiple swimming pools, waterfalls, a lazy river, a three-story waterslide, eight hydro-clay tennis courts, a marina and two world class golf courses designed by legends Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson!
For those who love the beach, Hammock Beach Resort boasts more outdoor oceanfront event space than any other resort in Florida.
Whether you are planning a luxurious family getaway, a golf escape or a business gathering, Hammock Beach Resort is an excellent choice.
Accommodations:
Hammock Beach Resort offers more than 300 luxury accommodations from one-bedroom oceanview suites to multi-bedroom villas.
The One Bedroom Suites feature a king bed, kitchenette and private balcony.
The Two and Three Bedroom Villas feature golf and marsh views, separate bedrooms, full bathrooms, an open living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a private balcony.
The Three Bedroom Suites feature ocean or resort views, private bedrooms, living and dining areas, a fully equipped kitchen and a private balcony.
The Ocean Tower Suites feature ocean or resort view, private balcony, living and dining areas and fully equipped kitchens.
In addition, a 20 room Lodge sits directly on the Atlantic Ocean and offers “boutique style” hotel rooms.
Dining:
The Atlantic Grille offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with the goal of treating guests to “great food and great atmosphere.” It also offers a great ocean view!
We sampled the lunch Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with sweet potato fries and Fish and chips. Both meals were served in large portions and were very tasty. We also sampled the freshly-baked potato chips with blue cheese dip on the side. They were crunchy and not the least bit greasy - an excellent appetizer choice.
Delfinos offers upscale dining in a more formal setting. The Delfino menu “uses a mixture of the freshest local seafood and finest cuts of meat to showcase regional Italian dishes.”
We sampled Delfinos Fried lobster with potatoes and asparagus, and NY Strip with potatoes and green beans. For dessert, we sampled the Canoli and Gelato. Just like the meals we sampled in the Atlantic Grille, the Delfino portions were large and well-prepared by a talented chef. For wine lovers, Delfinos offers a well-stocked wine vault with a selection for every taste.
The Ocean Bar & Café offers a full-service kitchen and island-inspired bar “so you can relax poolside all day long.”
A Sushi Bar and In-Room Dining are also available.
Bars:
The Hammock Beach resort offers a variety of options for guests seeking adult beverages of all kinds.
Loggerheads Lounge offers drinks at the bar, evening entertainment, billiards and sports programs on the big screen television.
The Cigar Bar is “the perfect place to relax with a premium cigar and cocktail.” It boasts five flat-panel televisions, leather furniture, and a fully stocked humidor ofcigars in a carbon filtered air environment.
The Coffee Bar serves a variety of coffees, teas, muffins and baked goods.
The Sand Trap Lounge is located within the lodge with “dramatic views over the Atlantic Ocean & 18th green.”
And, the Lobby Bar is an ideal meeting place for guests to relax.
Activities and Family Fun:
There is no need to leave the property and pay the additional expense of a touristy water park. Hammock Beach resort offers an impressive pool facility with something for everyone.
Guests of all ages can float down the lazy river, ride a twisting waterslide, stand under a refreshing waterfall, and even build a poolside sandcastle! The multilevel pool area offers separate upper and lower level pools, an adult pool, a swimming pool sized spa, a zero-entry beach pool, and beach volleyball.
Want to get out of the sun for a swim, Hammock Beach resort’s Indoor Pool complex offers two spas in a semi-private spa garden, table tennis, foosball, and a pool with lap lanes.
Since Hammock Beach Resort boasts more outdoor oceanfront event space than any other resort in Florida, make sure you take a dip in the Atlantic Ocean. Towels and chairs are even provided!
Children have a special place at Hammock Beach Resort. Kids Crew was created just for guests ages 4-12. Kids Crew offers kids a variety of activities including scavenger hunts, beach games, and pool fun.
Other family activities include kayaking tours, surfing lessons, bicycle rentals, a nine-hole putting course and old-fashioned picnics!
Golf:
Hammock Beach Resort is a golf enthusiast’s dream come true with 36 holes and “Signature designed courses by Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson” offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.
The Ocean Course is Florida’s first oceanfront course since the 1920’s and has been referred to as “The Pebble Beach of the East Coast.”
The Ocean Course is a private resort course, open to members, their guests and resort guests. The green fee for resort guests ranges according to season and includes their cart. Club and shoe rentals are available per request.
Jack Nicklaus, the 18-time major championship winner designed the course with 6 golf holes that border the ocean - the most in Florida. The course encompasses 100 acres of playable turf.
The two well-known golf courses at Hammock Beach Resort have been host to several PGA Tour events and the resort itself has been listed as one of the top 75 golf resorts in the world!
