Looking for a luxury resort that also specializes in families? The Acqualina Resort and Spa in Sunny Isles, Florida with its' "Mediterranean Villa Meets Elegance On The Beach" theme has won awards for both luxurious style and for being one of the best hotels for kids and families!
Located on nearly five beachfront acres with 400 feet of Atlantic Ocean coastline in an area often referred to as Florida's Riviera, Acqualina features 188 residences, 97 guests rooms and suites, a 20,000 square foot ESPA oceanfront spa , two oceanfront restaurants, three oceanfront swimming pools and a marine biology-based AcquaMarine children's program.
Acqualina offers 54 guest rooms and 43 suites (97 total) feature "classic furnishings with fresh modern elements complete with luxurious fabrics and gracious amenities such as private terraces, flat-screen TVs and bathrooms with imported marble flooring, double sinks, bath tub and glass-enclosed shower. All rooms and suites offer magnificent views and are equipped with fully stocked private bars with gourmet food snacks, goose down duvet & pillows (foam pillows available upon request), Rivolta Carmigani sheets, ETRO bath amenities, hair dryer & makeup mirror, luxurious bathrobes, in-room CD players, IPOD docking stations, high-speed Internet access, and umbrellas."
For Adults -
The ESPA at Acqualina is a 20,000 square foot oceanfront spa featuring 16 treatment rooms including a private hotel spa suite for two, a private spa pool, a heated jet pool with a Roman waterfall, Finnish Saunas, Crystal Steam Rooms, Ice Fountains, Experience Showers, and Relaxation Rooms.
Acqualina offers its guests complimentary internet access and a daily $40 body or facial spa treatment credit for up to two adults as part of their hotel stay. Guests also receive complimentary spa access which includes Crystal Steam Rooms, Finnish Saunas, and Experience Showers. Our massages were excellent.
Each of the four swimming pools at Acqualina offer views of the Atlantic Ocean and offer food and beverage service and complimentary towel service. The three oceanfront resort pools also provide a pool concierge that brings chilled towels, iced grapes and fruits, and delicious smoothies to guests every hour. Poolside cabanas offer access to flat-screen televisions, custom fruit bowls, water, and a selection of sun care products from the Acqualina boutique.
Just steps from the swimming pools, the Acqualina gives guests and residents easy access to the powdery, soft South Florida sands and the cool waters of the Atlantic. Beach umbrellas, plush lounges, and beach butler service are available.
There are numerous dining options including gourmet fare at the Costa Grill beach bar and Beachfront Grill Nights, The Bar and Lounge, 24-hour In-Room dining and Il Mulino New York described as "bustling and energetic atmosphere, market fresh daily specials, extensive selection of fine Italian wines and an impeccably polished wait staff...and authentic cuisine from Italy's Abruzzi region."

The Acquamarine program offers "an array of activities for children and young adults ages 4 - 12." Acqua Patrol activities teach kids about the world of the Coast Guard with a beach boot-camp relay and kayak-rescue mission, boating and fishing safety games, a life-jacket fashion show and service-award presentation. Whimsical Waves takes children on a journey of waves through science projects, wave-making arts and crafts and skim boarding adventures. Junior Guards beach-awareness workshop teaches children what it takes to be a life guard. City Under the Sea explores the mysterious underwater reef through snorkeling and the creation of an edible reef.
In addition to AcquaMarine programs, there is also the state-of-the-art, 500-square-foot children's room, complete with a computer center, video games, toys, microscopes and movies where children are invited to participate in arts and crafts, outdoor games, scrap-booking and other seasonally planned activities. Nanny services are also available as well as Kid’s Night Out - dinner, games and a movie so parents can enjoy an evening on the town alone.
